Senior SHES Advisor

Murphy is currently recruiting for a Senior SHES Advisor to join our award-winning Energy team covering projects in the Midlands and East of the UK. Our team is known for its extensive in-house expertise and continual drive to innovate within the industry. The Senior SHES Advisor will assist the SHES Management in the implementation of Group SHES Management Systems and provide SHES advice and support to employees.
Following the ‘One Murphy’ approach, we’re able to deliver all aspects of the projects we work on. Murphy has designed, constructed, and commissioned projects for clients such as National Grid, SSE and Ørsted, on both transmission and distribution networks within the Energy sector.
What you’ll be doing
1. Advise and support Managers and Supervisors to discharge their Health & Safety responsibilities towards employees as defined by Legislation and Company procedure
2. Ensure that all personnel are aware of their statutory duties and responsibilities, and to provide advice as and when required
3. Support management teams to ensure compliance with all requirements stipulated in the SHESQ Plans.
4. Carry out accident/incident investigations in accordance with the Company procedure and, analysing all data, making recommendations to avoid any reoccurrences
5. Manage and collate the data on SHESQ related issues to find areas for continuous improvement through trends and data analysis
6. Support and manage the audit programme; carry out audits when required
7. Participate in working groups / forums as required
8. Participate in the work of committees and joint consultations affecting the workforce as required
9. Monitoring of equipment
10. Implement Best Practice and actively seeking innovations to introduce into the Business Unit
Who we are looking for
11. Proven experience within a SHES advisor or similar position
12. Experience in civil engineering and/or construction
13. SHES Membership i.e. NEBOSH qualified
14. MS package knowledge
15. Solid understanding of the requirements of the ISO 9001, 14001 and BS OHSAS 18001 standards.
