Our client has an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Advisor to join their team working out of their office in Brighton. As the Environmental Advisor, you will provide environmental compliance and consistently conduct site inspections to meet the standard of national environmental regulations.
Your Responsibilities:
1. Studying project documentation and its environmental context to identify constraints and opportunities for delivery.
2. Provide environmental advice to sites and office teams on legislation, best practice and associated measures.
3. Support Early Contractor Involvement with environmental advice and deliverables.
4. Support the Pre-Contracts Team to develop effective bid strategies.
5. Help to prepare projects for delivery, ensuring that environmental issues are highlighted for the team and are being managed.
6. Engage with environmental stakeholders to understand their requirements and develop means of implementing them.
7. Produce project consent applications and manage the application process / timetable. These will include Marine Licences, Environmental Agency Permits, Planning applications, Public Rights of Way closures, Heritage Consents etc.
8. Produce environmental management plans and other documents to discharge planning / consent conditions and support project delivery.
9. Advise on the Scope and management of environmental specialists/ sub-contractors necessary for project delivery. This may include helping to engage/support Ecologists, Archaeologists, Noise specialists, Invasive species management contractors etc.
10. Communicate regularly with the SHEQ Team and integrate advice and working practices within the ISO14001 management system.
The Candidate:
1. You will hold a relevant construction, civil engineering or environmental degree or related qualification.
2. Able to display previous experience gained in a similar role.
3. Experience working on civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
