Job Overview
Surrey and Borders Partnership Foundation Trust are proud to provide outstanding Forensic Mental Health services to the population of Surrey. Our Forensic Outreach and Liaison (FOLs) seek to advocate for individuals with a forensic profile, ensuring they receive care as close to home as possible and that they do not spend unnecessary time in secure placements.
We are seeking a passionate and committed lead psychologist to join our FOLs team. You will work with friendly and supportive multi-disciplinary teams who value the skills and expertise of our Clinical/Counselling Psychologists. You will handle high-risk, complex mental health difficulties, offer supervision to colleagues, and contribute to the leadership team committed to developing the therapeutic offerings of the service.
Main Duties of the Job
1. Plan and deliver a highly specialist psychology service (in leadership or advanced therapy role) and oversee its clinical governance.
2. Be responsible for the professional leadership and continued development of a team and/or service area.
3. Develop and implement appropriate policies, protocols, and care pathways.
4. Ensure that the needs of people with protected characteristics are addressed within local services and future developments.
5. Demonstrate highly specialist expertise and psychological skills such as assessments, formulation, therapeutic interventions, and consultation for people with complex needs.
6. Act as supervisor/teacher for pre-registration students and junior personnel, participating in the audit of educational placements and new staff induction.
7. Research national best practices and enable services to benchmark against recognized standards.
8. Lead in developing and conducting clinical audits and research, maintaining current knowledge of relevant findings.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Doctorate in Clinical Psychology or equivalent
* Completion of an appropriate clinical supervision course
* HCPC registration
* Additional academic clinical qualification relevant to the area of work
* Additional leadership/management study
Experience
* Extensive post-qualification clinical experience in a relevant clinical setting
* Experience leading in clinical practice, service development, or project work
* Experience supervising trainees, assistant psychologists, and qualified clinical/counselling psychologists
* Experience implementing change following audit and service evaluation
* Demonstrable experience developing complex formulations using multiple psychological models
* Experience advising other professionals on complex psychological issues and risk
