A full-time permanent position as Validation Officer has become available within the Corporate Service Support Team assisting Development Management Services. The Validation Team delivers a key function in the validation of planning applications submitted to the Council.
About the Role:
The Validation Officer will be expected to undertake a variety of administration duties associated with a busy office environment, including overseeing email accounts, responding to telephone calls, and handling incoming and outgoing correspondence. The postholder will also be required to input, update, and extract information from IT systems, collate data, maintain electronic database records, and where appropriate, website-based records.
About the Candidate:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual with a minimum of 4 years’ experience working within an administrative/local authority setting with an NVQ level 4 or above in Business Studies. The opportunity would suit someone who is methodical, has good attention to detail, a high level of computer literacy, good communication skills, and an enthusiastic and positive approach to work. Knowledge of ICT systems such as Tascomi and QGIS would be a distinct advantage.
Due to the level of contact with members of the public, both on the telephone and also via email and paper correspondence, the need to meet the desired Welsh language levels is essential.

Democratic Services play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient management of the decision-making process of the Council, including support and advice to Councillors; PA, administrative and project management support to all service areas; facilitating elections; the communications team; translation and the Welsh Language policy officer.
