We are currently recruiting for a number of providers in Bury that are keen to hire Care Assistants and Support Workers. All of our positions are working in Adult Social Care, not all require experience, but a strong understanding of the work involved and experience caring for others is essential.
Our positions can also care for a range of people across many difference care settings. We support people with age related illness, mental health and learning disabilities with varying levels of complex illness and challenging behaviours. Care and support can be given within a person’s own home, a support living arrangement or in a residential care setting such as a care or nursing home.
The tasks of the positions could include.
* Supporting people with their daily life activities from shopping, cooking ( preparing food and drinks) tidying and sorting out personal admin.
* Many require you to support personal care that involves supporting showering, toileting, basic hygiene care and
* You may be required to assist with medication or non-clinical care such as using topical creams etc.
* They may require assistance with mobility so supporting moving and positioning or with mobility aids such as chairs, frames and walking equipment.
* There is also the fun stuff like socialising, going for a walk, enjoying nature, playing games or arts and crafts.
Bury has a growing demand for adult social care employees and employers range from large l providers such as Macintyre and the FED, council managed services such as Killelea House, Rapid Response and Persona and then the smaller independent homes and community services such as Hamilton House, Lifestyle Home Care, KV Care and Choices home care. There are over 100 care companies in Bury so we have a wide range of vacancies to suit.
Requirements
For all positions you will need to demonstrate compassion, commitment and the ability to work hard in sometimes, challenging situations. We want to hire people who are kind and understand the importance of independence and person-centred care for vulnerable adults.
* Health and Social Care qualification is preferred but not essential for all jobs
* UK drivers licence is required for some of the positions
* 12 months care experience
Benefits
For all community-based positions, you will need to be a driver with a full UK licence and access to your own car. Travel ( mileage) is expensed and re paid monthly.
Shifts can vary from PT to FT, but most require flexibility and a willingness to work at least one weekend shift per month.
Pay can range from £11.44 to 12.50 per hour with additional payment for night work.
