Join us in this crucial role as a Home Future Underwriting Lead within Pricing & Underwriting for Home & Growth. You will be working alongside a team of underwriters and portfolio managers who are responsible for ensuring profitable growth of the home portfolio.
What you'll be doing
As a valued member of the team, you'll contribute to the delivery of the Home Insurance strategy by providing leadership of the Home Underwriting team responsible for growth of DLG's home insurance portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
1. Development of brand & product specific underwriting strategies tailored to meet the needs of our customers.
2. Identify opportunities for sustainable growth and profitable expansion of footprint.
3. Complete financial assessment and impact assessment of any changes proposed.
4. Provide ownership of question sets, product cover limits and product tiers, ensuring they remain appropriate and well maintained.
5. Ensure adherence with governance and controls including thorough documentation and management of underwriting criteria, underwriting rules and decisions made.
6. Ensure all policies written within DLG's risk appetite.
What you'll need
1. Strong understanding of underwriting principles, risk assessment, and pricing strategies, specifically across Personal Lines (ideally Home Insurance).
2. Experience of managing multiple products across different brands in a large organisation.
3. Thorough knowledge of the Personal Lines insurance market including market trends, competition, and emerging trends.
4. Understanding of Personal Lines distribution channels, including phone, digital and price comparison websites.
5. Proficient in developing underwriting policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory regulations.
6. Strong focus on customer satisfaction and FCA regulations including Consumer Duty.
7. Ability to assess and mitigate risks associated with underwriting decisions.
8. Proven leadership and people management skills with the capacity to manage stakeholders effectively.
9. Strong problem-solving skills & a keen eye for attention to detail.
10. Excellent communication and a team player.
11. Good knowledge of IT principles and processes.
12. Creativity, Passionate, Inquisitiveness nature & Innovative.
