Could you focus on the design and development, use and adoption of Cloud services, helping the British Red Cross to unlock the potential of Microsoft Cloud services? Could you build new foundations for future growth, using cutting-edge technologies to solve challenges as we are focused upon our mission of reducing our cost to serve and improving our user experience, resilience, and security? Can you provide subject matter expertise as part of a team responsible for the support, management, and maintenance of the core infrastructure and cloud services that underpins our production services, delivered as platform services to other teams and the wider organisation? What will a Senior Azure Services Engineer's job involve?
1. Lead projects to deliver well-architected Azure solutions for application modernisation and native cloud development projects.
2. Instil a culture of automation across Azure workloads, automating as many processes as possible.
3. Lead the design, build, configuration, administration, and management the Cloud technologies, systems, and components, include computing, storage, software, commercial-off-the-shelf software (COTS), and open-source packages and solutions, to ensure they meet business needs and performance targets.
4. Apply technical and specialist knowledge and skills through collaboration and creativity to support the successful delivery of programmes, projects, and other sanctioned initiatives.
5. Lead the review, assessment, and implementation of complex Requests for Change (RFC) adhering to the BRC change management policy and process.
6. Review and perform tests to verify the effectiveness of changes, the user experience is not adversely impacted, and rollback plans are in place that are capable of restoring services to their previous state should the change need to be reverted.
What will a Senior Azure Services Engineer need to be successful?
7. Strong knowledge of managing Azure environments, including network traffic, subscriptions, accounts, users, groups, and billing within Azure.
8. Strong understanding of Azure platform components and services, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS, and ability to review and align existing Azure environments to best practices, being able to align business requirements with Azure capabilities.
9. Strong understanding of Azure services, including App Service, API Management, Event Hub, Service Bus, Azure Spring Cloud, Key Vault, and Azure Monitor.
10. Extensive experience in managing Azure within a diverse Enterprise environment, including Virtual Machines (VMs), virtual networks, Azure Storage, databases, network traffic, subscriptions, accounts, users, groups, and billing.
11. Experience in creating and maintaining disaster recovery plans for Azure services to ensure business continuity, leveraging native Azure technologies, such as Azure Availability Zones and Site Recovery, to improve the availability of core line of business applications.
12. Strong proficiency in resource provisioning and scaling with the ability to review existing Azure environments and align to best practice.
