The Heidelberg Materials International Business Service Centre (BSC) provides administrative and transactional services to in-scope Heidelberg Materials Companies and Business Lines. The International Business Centre incorporates departments which provides Accounts Payable, Central Purchasing, and Master Data services to other group countries. Description of the role/team

The International Accounting Manager will provide stakeholder and operational management and leadership across the Accounting process for a number of countries within the Heidelberg Materials group.
The Accounting & Controlling team will assist in the preparation of the monthly management accounts for designated process areas, maintain and report on a strong and robust control environment, completing balance sheet reconciliations, risk analysis and providing an accounting perspective to all processes to ensure compliance, efficiency, and transparency.
Key accountabilities

Subject Matter Expertise
* Operating as an International BSC expert in Accounting and Controlling, with detailed knowledge and conceptual understanding of relevant business processes and systems
* Provide technical leadership and advice on complex issue resolution to the in-scope businesses where relevant within a varying environment.
* Creation, implementation, and maintenance of a robust control environment ensuring integrity of all relevant processes and ledgers.
* Ensure adherence to Blueprint processes and procedure, with documentation of any variations from this.
* Ensuring compliance with individual rules and regulations of each in scope country, including running of appropriate validation and audit processes as required.
* Provide support and training where necessary across the business to promote understanding and efficient transacting of the end-to-end process
Operational Excellence

* Ensure deliverance of customer service excellence to all stakeholders throughout end-to-end processes
* Deal with associated queries on a timely basis
* Develop and maintain efficient and robust processes for accounting management.
* Maintain and improve efficiency and accuracy levels, reporting performance levels through dashboards and KPIs.

* Manage an agile team of resource with no key person dependency, able to adapt to peaks and changes in workload quickly and effectively
* Responsible for Accounting activities for in-scope companies - Team size - circa 20 FTE
Technical Competence

* Detailed experience of accounting processes
* Detailed SAP knowledge preferred, or experienced in learning new systems in depth
* Up to date technical knowledge
* Strong knowledge of system and process controls
