The role
GroupEd is expanding its sales operations and is looking for a Sales & Business Development Executive. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated, pro-active individual selling software in the education (schools) sector. This is an external sector facing sales role to develop new opportunities into the business through pro-active business development and lead generation.
As a Sales & Business Development Executive, you'll play a key role in promoting our unique product and driving business growth. This position demands a proactive approach to both new and existing business opportunities. You'll work closely with the Business Director to identify and capitalise on sales while ensuring top-tier customer service.

The ideal candidate will be ambitious and eager to progress within the company. You should be self-motivated with a strong ability to work independently, while also being a team player with excellent communication skills. Previous experience in a sales-related role, such as Internal Sales, Sales Manager, or Sales Support Executive, is required. Proficiency in MS Office and CRM systems is desirable.

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic, gregarious and results-driven Business Development Executive to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about identifying new business opportunities, building relationships with potential clients, and contributing to the overall growth and success of the company.
Key Responsibilities
* Sales Strategy: Collaborate with the broader team to develop effective sales strategies and presentations to convert leads into clients. You will be the lead with responsibility for delivering a robust sales pipeline.
* Market Research: Conduct thorough research to identify new markets, industry trends, and competitive landscape to inform business strategies.
* Lead Generation: Develop and implement strategies to generate leads through various channels, including networking, making outbound calls, following up with emails and attending industry events.
* Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions. Specifically you will be responsible for booking appointments with prospective clients, recording all information on our CRM
* Proposal Development: Prepare and present business proposals and contracts to potential clients as appropriate
* Performance Tracking: Monitor and report on sales performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
* Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, product development, and customer service colleagues to ensure a seamless client experience.
* Networking: Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to promote brand awareness and generate leads.
Qualifications and Experience:
· Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or equivalent relevant experience
· Proven experience in business development or sales, preferably in education and or software/ tech
· Strong understanding of sales principles and customer relationship management.
· Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
· Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
· A results-oriented mindset with a passion for achieving targets.

Salary
Base salary £25k- £30k per annum (based on experience and pro rata depending on contract hours)
Up to £25K OTE on top of base salary
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (FTE- or equivalent based on terms)
