Job description: The Assistant Team Leader role is pivotal in supporting the Transaction Services Team (TST), particularly within the Real Estate sub-team. This role involves close collaboration with leadership to enhance the development and performance of Paralegals and Legal Apprentices. The Assistant Team Leader is tasked with operational support, including work allocation and quality assurance, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery. This position, based in Edinburgh or Glasgow, requires occasional UK-wide travel.
Key responsibilities entail operational management, such as understanding internal client needs, resource allocation, and ensuring quality work delivery. The role extends to line management, where leading, coaching, and motivating the team are crucial. The Assistant Team Leader will also engage in fee-earning activities, manage complex projects, and stay abreast of legal developments within Real Estate law.
Furthermore, the role encompasses team growth, involving engagement with fee earners and partners to promote the TST and identify new business opportunities. Supporting team leaders and senior managers in recruitment and team operations, and deputizing for the Team Leader as needed, are also integral duties.
Required profile: Candidates should possess or be willing to develop a thorough understanding of Real Estate processes, with supervisory experience and a knack for defining work processes being advantageous. Essential skills include excellent communication, the ability to manage complex workloads, strong team orientation, and meticulous attention to detail amidst multiple tasks and deadlines.
