As the Compliance Manager youwill be responsible for ensuring that all electrical installationsinspections and testing align with NICEIC (National InspectionCouncil for Electrical Installation Contracting) standards andregulatory requirements. This includes managing compliance forhazardous areas maintaining certification and ensuring adherence tosafety protocols across ouroperations.
Responsibilities:
Complianceand Regulatory Management:
o Oversee and ensurecompliance with NICEIC standardsacross all projects including certification and inspectionrequirements.
o Implement and enforce compliancepractices for Hazardous AreaRegulations (DSEAR ATEX) ensuring all work complieswith NICEIC standards for installations in explosive or highriskenvironments.
o Ensure that all electricalinstallations meet the 18th Edition WiringRegulations (BS 7671:2018) verifying that they aresafe and meet current UK safety standards.
o Manage certifications for QualifiedSupervisor (NIC QS) and Principal DutyHolder (NIC PDH) ensuring all work meets NICEICstandards.
InspectionandTesting:
o Conductand oversee regular Inspection andTesting of electrical systems ensuring compliancewith Test and Inspectstandards.
o Oversee audits and inspectionswithin hazardous areas ensuring all installations are compliantwith CompEX certifications (0910 or0104 and 14) and safe for operation.
o Promptlyaddress and resolve any compliance issues or safety concernscoordinating with teams to implement correctivemeasures.
Trainingand ComplianceSupport:
o Developand deliver training for staff on NICEIC compliance standardsparticularly in hazardous environments.
o Offerspecialized guidance to staff on safety protocols risk assessmentsand best practices related to electrical safety and hazardous areawork.
o Support team members in obtainingnecessary NICEIC certifications and other qualifications needed toupholdcompliance.
PolicyDevelopment and Documentation:
o Create document and maintain compliancepolicies aligned with NICEIC standards DSEAR ATEX and the 18thEdition Wiring Regulations.
o Keep detailedrecords of all inspections certifications and testing for auditpurposes and regulatory reporting.
o Ensurecompany stays compliant with current and future changes tolegislation andpolicies.
Auditand Continuous Improvement:
o Conduct internal audits to verify compliancewith NICEIC DSEAR ATEX and other relevant standards.
o Identify areas for process improvement drivinginitiatives to enhance safety and compliance across theorganization.
o Prepare for and support externalaudits by NICEIC and other regulatory bodies ensuring accuraterecords and policy alignment.
Safety and RegulatoryRequirements:
NICEICand Electrical StandardsCompliance:
o Ensure all electricalwork complies with NICEIC standards promoting bestpractices.
o Maintain compliance with the18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671:2018) ensuring safe electrical installationpractices.
HazardousArea Compliance (DSEAR ATEX):
o Ensure adherence toDSEAR (Dangerous Substances andExplosive Atmospheres Regulations) standards managing risksassociated with hazardous environments.
o Complywith ATEX Directives for equipment andprotective systems used in explosive atmospheres ensuring propercertification and maintenance.
EmergencyPreparedness and SafetyProtocols:
o Develop emergency response protocols for hazardousenvironments training staff on evacuation first aid and equipmenthandling.
o Conduct risk assessments and ensurethat controls are in place to manage risks associated withelectrical installations in hazardousareas.
Qualifications&Experience:
o NICEICQualified Supervisor (QS) and Principal Duty Holder(PDH).
CompEX certification (0910 or 0104 and 14) forhazardous area compliance.
18th Edition WiringRegulations knowledge and adherence.
Test and Inspectcertification to oversee safe electricalpractices.
