Job Description
An exceptional opportunity presents itself for a Night Porter to join the Rooms Department at Raffles London at the OWO.
Reporting into the Night Duty Manager and Head Concierge, you will be a direct point of contact for guests in the lobby and work with the concierge team to provide any answers to questions they may have. To assist guests with their luggage and delivering it to their rooms as promptly as possible. During nights you will be responsible for guest and team special requests and errands ensuring all needs are met.
To handle all guest luggage, packages, and parcels with the utmost care and attention to detail. To provide a genuine, attentive, friendly, positive and proactive service to our guests as well as managing the public areas of the hotel, ensuring that guest and departmental expectations are met exceeding the high standards required by the company.
Specifically, as the Night Porter, your responsibility’s will include:
1. Accepting and distributing of incoming deliveries according to SOP
2. Take responsibility for the department and area on night shifts.
3. Act as the contact point between Front office and guests.
4. Confidently welcoming and greeting guests to raffles standards, using name recognition whenever possible.
5. Assist the door, concierge and lobby staff to ensure smooth transitions for all guests and residents.
6. Track and trac all luggage and guest items arriving into the hotel.
7. Escorting guests and luggage trough the building.
8. Arranging taxi and pick ups of guests and transfers of luggage in a detailed manner.
9. Assist with night concierge and front office duties as required.
10. Manual handling and lifting of guest items, ensuring great care is taken at every step.
11. Additional responsibilities in absence of line manager or senior employee.
12. Performs other duties as required or assigned including working in a different department or restaurant, than usually assigned.
Who are we looking for?
13. Previous night working experience
14. Ability to communicate clearly and efficiently in English, both verbal and written
15. Recent experience within in 5-star hotels or a similar role
16. Enthusiasm and commitment to delivering and offering the best service and experiences possible in any situation
17. Able to work within a team and to multitask and remain calm under pressure
18. Distinctive, professional and warm personality
19. A proven track record and ability to provide high levels of service under pressure
20. Exceptional communication and customer service skills, both written and spoken
21. Strong time management skills with the ability to multi-task while maintaining an immaculate and professional appearance
22. An understanding and willingness to contribute to a 24h operational schedule when required
Desirable
23. UK Driving licence.
24. Previous experience within a luxury hotel environment working with LQA, Forbes 5* or equivalent standards.
