We have a fantastic opportunity for a Project Manager to join our Avionics (AVS) UK team in Crawley, West Sussex.

Key responsibilities:
The Project Manager is responsible for all activities during bid and/or contract fulfilment of a project including:
11. Planning, setting up, organising, documenting, executing and concluding a project in accordance with approved processes, procedures, methods and tools whilst employing a ‘Best Practices’ approach in all instances.
12. Presenting and reporting the project progress and activities to the Head of Programmes, Sector General Manager as required.
13. Supporting in the defining, establishing, managing and leading a high performing and successful integrated project organisation, including individual and team resource profiling.
14. Implementing, maintaining and managing all elements of project management including: integration, value, scope, quality, procurement, time, finance, human resource, risk, opportunities and communications.
15. Achieving and endeavouring to improve project cost and working capital requirement budgets.
16. Ensure all company processes and any legal requirements for exporting goods and services are compliant.
17. Ensuring that programme plans and estimates for bids are appropriately developed and reviewed.
18. Draft and support the management of work packages including monthly reporting requirements and maintenance of a project risk register. Production of project metrics and the contribution/adherence to the formal chorus II ‘Manage Bids & Manage Programmes’ process.
19. Managing the requirements of multiple stakeholders (internal & external) on a project.
20. If necessary supporting the bid team in the capture lead role within the Manage Bid Process.
21. Working across various support functions within the project environment in order to ensure effective team working is implemented in support of the business and project objectives.
22. Providing support to change project and process improvement initiatives that impact on or are initiated from within the programme environment.
23. Responsible for demonstrating behaviour that is consistent with the Thales Key Values
24. Responsible for maintaining an ethical approach to business, in line with the Thales ethics policy.
About you:
25. Proven experience as a Programme / Project Manager with a good understanding of project integration, value, scope, quality, procurement, time, finance, risk, opportunities and communications.
26. Experience and a proven track record of Customer focussed behaviour in the delivery of projects.
27. Good understanding of different support models varying from basic support to complex support for meeting customer requirements
28. Good understanding of Through Life Support activities, including DRACAS, obsolescence and asset modelling within a Project Support environment.
29. Strong Risk Management background
30. Engineering familiarity likely to include s/w, h/w and systems engineering.
31. Good Commercial awareness is essential and experience of contract management and negotiations is desirable.
32. Hands-on experience that covers project control, financial reporting, budgeting, process development, lean manufacturing, quality or environmental management.
