About the role
Due to an internal promotion, we are seeking a new Finance Analyst with exceptional Business Partnering skills to come and join our Commercial Technology Finance Team. You will be responsible for supporting the management and strategic planning of the software and hardware streams (part of Ocado Technology) with relevant and value add analysis and reporting. The role is 30% reporting, budgeting and forecasting, 70% Business Partnering, investment appraisal and ad hoc analysis.
You will work with various stakeholders at a senior level across multiple functions, maximising your own exposure to build your career with Ocado. You will report directly to the Technology Finance Business Partner and work as part of a team of 6 but sit within a much larger Group Finance division based in Hatfield although this is a Hybrid role to give you extra flexibility!
Responsibilities
* Provide analysis to develop cost models and support their maintenance aligned with operational and business metrics
* Own and develop the forecast model for cloud costs
* Support Ocado Technology in better understanding the core drivers of cloud costs across all formats offered (CFC or Store Pick)
* Deliver the planning, budgeting and forecasting process including identification of risk and opportunities for your areas of responsibility
* Prepare and develop management information, insight and ad hoc analysis to support performance tracking, cost control and decision making ensuring these are timely, relevant and insightful
* Support with and review of capital spend approval requests, ensuring appropriate process. Prepare relevant models to inform decisions
* Identify, suggest improvements and work across the teams to implement improvements to business processes and financial controls to increase efficiency and ensure all costs are recorded accurately in the accounts
* Articulate management information to a wider variety of stakeholders across both Ocado Technology and Finance
* Ensure the right financial standards, compliance processes and controls are applied into the business areas
About you
* Qualified CIMA / ACA/ ACCA accountant or equivalent
* Experience of reporting, period management, analysis and commentary
* Experience of budgeting and forecasting
* Experience of strong business partnering and working in a matrix structure
* Advanced Excel skills are essential and Oracle is an added advantage
* Pro collaboration and have a genuine passion for value add and continuous improvements
