Title: Youth Engagement Officer
Location: Tower Hamlets
Salary: £18.80 PAYE/£24.38 Umbrella
Term: Temporary - currently until end February with the possibility of extension
The hours of this role as 35 hours per week. Please note that this can include working in the early evening as well as providing occasional cover for appointments/reparation on Sunday's.
Join our client's dedicated team as a Youth Engagement Officer and make a positive impact in the lives of vulnerable people. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the planning and delivery of one-to-one support for children in the youth justice services who are assessed as high risk. Your engaging approach will be crucial in building trust with these individuals and supporting their distance from offending.
Responsibilities:
* Work closely with the Youth Justice Service Case Manager to create a weekly Intensive Supervision and Surveillance (ISS) timetable.
* Plan, deliver, and review support packages to ensure smooth and consistent delivery of timetabled activities for youths and their families.
* Deliver specific interventions, both one-to-one and in group settings, to contribute to their safety, well-being, and distance from offending.
* Develop, organise, and supervise community reparation placements, ensuring compliance with procedures and court requirements.
* Lead the planning, facilitation, and evaluation of the Youth Justice Service's youth forum, giving children and adolescence a voice in shaping the service.
Requirements:
* Experience working with vulnerable children and youths subject to statutory intervention, ideally within the youth justice service.
* Excellent engagement skills and the ability to build rapport with children.
* Strong organisational skills to effectively plan and deliver support packages.
* Ability to work collaboratively with other agencies and services.
* Flexibility to occasionally work evenings and provide Sunday cover for appointments/reparation.
