1. Complete all auditable functions/records required by the Company such as Health and Safety Compliance and Food Safety Compliance and to audit paperwork for the depot to ensure compliance from first line management and to raise awareness of the food safety system (HACCP) throughout the site.
2. Ensure that all Coldstore staff comply and operate within the H&S and food hygiene guidelines as laid down within the company safety codes of practice.
3. Ensure training needs and paperwork is completed as recommended by the Company and all records are filed and stored as requested. Ensure documentation control and site-based training is adequate to meet the standards required to maintain the quality accreditation (CMI/STS/EHO) of our customer base.
4. Control, manage and prioritise engineers and maintenance / service frequencies on site by use using the relevant tools available (9080 job log)
5. Manage the warehouse’s operational activities including budgeting, labour scheduling, space and equipment, safety and security, housekeeping, and sanitation. Ensure people, process and technology enable meeting all customer service standards.
6. Manage, train, provide performance feedback and assign duties of direct reports to ensure productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness.
7. Continuously improve operational procedures such as verifying incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and moving merchandise, and maintaining warehouse inventory
8. Partner with sales, inventory control, and operations support to ensure availability of products.
9. Plan long-range labour needs based on sales forecasts and input from management.
10. Facilitate the achievement of prescribed company Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) regarding cost, productivity, customer service, profits, and team members.
11. Operate the facility in compliance with health, safety, and environment regulations to always establish and practice a culture of safety among the team members.
12. Analyse operational reports to identify trends and recommend solutions to management.
13. Build and maintain partnerships with other departments i.e. Finance, HR, Sales, Continuous Improvement, etc.

14. A strong leader with drive and a well-developed ability to identify and resolve problems.
15. Proven experience of successfully running a large warehouse operation
16. Experiencing of leading a large team and working as a second line manager
17. Confident user with warehouse manager systems (WMS)
18. High experience in warehouse management / logistics and distribution
19. Record with people management
20. PC Literate
21. Excellent interpersonal skills
22. Ability to travel to the Heywood location every working day
