SHES Advisor - North London

Murphy is currently recruiting for a SHES Advisor to join our award-winning Energy team on a Project in North London. Our team is known for its extensive in-house expertise and continual drive to innovate within the industry. The SHES Advisor will assist the SHES Management in the implementation of Group SHES Management Systems and provide SHES advice and support to employees.
Following the ‘One Murphy’ approach, we’re able to deliver all aspects of the projects we work on. Murphy has designed, constructed, and commissioned projects for clients such as National Grid, SSE and Ørsted, on both transmission and distribution networks within the Energy sector.
What will you be doing?
1. Advise and aid Managers and Supervisors to discharge their Health & Safety responsibilities towards employees as defined by Legislation and Company procedure
2. Ensure that all personnel are aware of their statutory duties and responsibilities, and to provide advice as and when required
3. Aid management teams to ensure compliance with all requirements stipulated in the SHESQ Plans.
4. Carry out accident/incident investigations in accordance with the Company procedure and, analysing all data, making recommendations to avoid any reoccurrences
5. Manage and collate the data on SHESQ related issues to find areas for continuous improvement through trends and data analysis
6. Assist and manage the audit programme; carry out audits when required
7. Participate in working groups / forums as required
8. Participate in the work of committees and joint consultations affecting the workforce as required
9. Monitoring of equipment
10. Implement Best Practice and actively seeking innovations to introduce into the Business Unit
Who are we looking for?
11. Previous experience within a SHES advisor, Health & Safety, or similar position
12. Experience in civil engineering/construction.
13. SHES Membership i.e. NEBOSH qualified
14. Solid understanding of the requirements of the ISO 9001, 14001 and BS OHSAS 18001 standards.
