G&H is a world leader in optical designing, testing and manufacturing. As experts in the technology of light, G&H works with customers to provide optical systems, assemblies, and components for demanding applications. We are looking for a Global Security Controller to manage the security operations of the G&H business. With manufacturing sites in the UK and US, we require an individual to further develop the business by implementing company and client security requirements relating to personnel, facility, and assets. As Global Security Controller you will be responsible for ensuring robust group wide policies exist and, working with our IT team, providing support to the operational business, guiding, and training all staff on how to handle protectively marked assets according to each country’s government security legislation.
R esponsibilities include;
Ensure the Security roadmap is aligned with the Company strategic plan, governance and management framework.
Take leadership of all facility security responsibilities, being the first point of contact for any global security related issues and working closely with the respective functional and site leaders for the implementation.
Develop existing UK company security instructions and personnel security policies, to include US government security standards, and develop local US security controllers as required.
Focusing on establishing a consistent Controlled Unclassified Information Markings process in conjunction with US sites and support functions.
Conducting reviews/audits to ensure continued compliance and monitor risks to the business, reporting any escalations/mitigating action status to senior management.
Working with IT function to conduct annual independent audits to demonstrate Cyber Security effectiveness.
Liaising with, and providing guidance to, the wider company security network, including IT and Business Systems Departments.
Developing and providing non-IT related security training / briefings to all relevant areas of the business on both facility and personnel security matters.
Working with project teams to manage compliance of customer/government security conditions, conveyed either by contract or national security standards, and ensuring processes are being followed accordingly.
Where necessary, lead investigations for non IT-related security related incidents along with coordinating any remedial actions required within the risk management process.
Ideal candidates will have the following attributes;
Must be able to work in the UK without restrictions in accordance with UK National Law and be prepared to successfully undertake an appropriate level of UK National Security Vetting to associated criteria.
Good time management, able to work on own initiative supporting a number of sites remotely and in person where necessary.
Be adaptable, in situations where rapid change is required due to business needs.
Strong communication skills and problem-solving initiatives.
Driven, self-motived and autonomous.
Can-do attitude.
Skills and Abilities;
Working experience (5 years+ preferred) of UK and US Government security industry standards and cross government governance and management framework.
Working knowledge of the Defence Trade Cooperation Treaty with respect to government security and defence projects.
Experience of working with National Security departments: DE&S / DoD, NSVS, ISAC.
Experience of Cyber Essentials Plus and NIST.SP.800-171 & 172.
