Job description
Join a prominent player in the field of aircraft landing and braking systems, recognized for its global leadership. Based at their Gloucester site. Being a hub for designing, testing, manufacturing, and assembling cutting-edge landing gear used in various commercial aircraft, as well as UK military aircraft.
As Quality Engineer within Production, you will be involved with all departmental functions from Engineering through Operations and Customer Support.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Facilitate investigation of non-conformances root causes to assist with reduction of non-quality events
2. Support industrialisation process of new product with a focus on final quality review of documentation (Forms 1-3, SOL, Control and Inspection Plans)
3. Conduct audits (including FOD audits, workstation audits, internal audits)
4. Conduct RCCA investigations using common tools (8D Ishikawa, 5Whys etc.) and support the completion of corrective and preventive actions
5. Ensure customer and regulatory requirements are maintained and foster a culture of continuous improvement
6. Support Production in daily stand ups and be the focal point for quality concerns
7. Support APQP and PPAP activities on site including the ongoing development of the processes involved
8. Be an active member of MFTs including all levels of the business, with the ability to guide participants
9. Ensure compliance and application of corporate processes and tools as required
What do you need from me?
10. Experience of manufacturing principles, processes, standards and procedures
11. Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications
12. Understanding of aerospace QMS and regulatory requirements
13. Qualification - apprenticeship/HNC/degree
It would be advantageous if you also had:
14. Knowledge of root cause analysis techniques (8D, Ishikawa, 5WHY)
15. Awareness of DVI/FAIR process
16. Awareness of machining and special processes
