Specialist Pharmacist Mental Health - Brighton Locality
Are you enthusiastic and passionate about improving the lives of patients with mental health problems, then apply for a specialist pharmacist role in our Mental Health and Learning Disabilities Trust. We have an opportunity to support the inpatient team in Hove.
You should have a passion for working within mental health and an understanding of the medicines used within mental health services. The post holder will be supported to undertake further accreditations as appropriate, and there are opportunities to develop the role and service to the wards.
You will be joining a friendly, supportive Pharmacy team which is highly regarded in the Trust. This role is a great opportunity to start or continue a career in mental health and can lead to a future of more senior roles within mental health.
The Pharmacy leadership team is committed to education and training of the pharmacy workforce and will provide an inhouse training program and access to external training (including Psych 1 and Psych 2) for the successful applicants so they can reach their full potential.
Main duties of the job
This role will provide a clinical pharmacy and medicines optimisation service to ensure patient's get the best from their medicines and that other healthcare professionals are well informed and skilled to be able to manage the use of medicines correctly, safely and cost effectively. This includes adult acute, older persons mental health and dementia services. The role will support the safe and effective use of medicines within the service, working closely with the pharmacy staff within the Brighton locality of Sussex Partnership, and as part of the wider service MDT and Trust wide pharmacy team.
There is no weekend or dispensary working. There is an on call component to the role-further information can be discussed by contacting the team or at interview.

Qualifications
Essential
8. Degree in Pharmacy at a British School of Pharmacy, or recognised equivalent
9. Clinical Pharmacy post graduate qualification ( certificate or diploma)
10. Registered Member of General Pharmaceutical Council.
Knowledge, Training and Experience
Essential
11. To have demonstrable evidence of having met the full gateway KSF for 6 Rotational Pharmacist
12. Experience of working with different healthcare professions and managers across the wider healthcare economy
13. Can demonstrate an understanding of the key stakeholders the post is likely to be supporting and how they will be expected to support them
14. Significant experience of working within a hospital pharmacy department post qualification, including experience in mental health service provision
15. Excellent clinical pharmacy skills with particular emphasis on medicines used in mental health
16. Experience in providing both written and verbal information on drug usage
17. Experience in carrying out Medicines Information queries, providing both verbal and written specialist advice
