The Role We are looking for an experienced Finance Assistant to support the Finance Officer in the day to day running of the department. You will play a crucial role in the team ensuring smooth processing of administrative tasks and support on various projects as required. Reporting to the Finance Officer, you will be a collaborative team player with an eye for detail. This is a part time role and we are open to what this looks like for the right candidate - whether it be working shorter days across the working week or 3 full days per week. Responsibilities Work closely with the Finance Officer to ensure accurate end-to-end accounting. Promptly processing invoices and credit notes and allocating them to the relevant purchase orders. Following up on outstanding invoices and being the first point of contact for supplier and employee invoicing queries. Support business teams with the purchase order process to ensure all invoices are supported by approved POs. Assist with month-end tasks, including bank postings and reconciliations, to support timely financial reporting. Manage the monthly reconciliations of employee expenses. Checking and updating ledger balances. Scanning, filing and logging all relevant account documents. Ensuring accounting systems remain accurate and up to date. Support the Finance Officer and Senior Leadership Team with ad hoc Finance priorities and projects as required. Skills and experience Previous experience in Finance is essential. Ability to analyse financial data. Intermediate skills in Excel. High standard of accuracy with financial and statistical data. Strong organisation, prioritisation skills and ability to meet tight deadlines. Attention to detail and ability to multitask. Strong communication skills. An eye for process improvement.
