We’re looking for a Personal Assistant to help our adult son live independently in his own home and out in the local community, and to boost his confidence and sense of value as an individual.
Candidates will need to understand and be prepared to deal with a range of complex health and wellbeing challenges, including epilepsy, the development of social skills, and substance dependency. For the right person, this could be an opportunity to practice inclusive care, and to develop skills in tolerance and coping with difficult circumstances.
Despite the challenges he faces, our son is a compelling and conscientious young man with an interesting past he’ll share with those he comes to trust. He loves cinema, theatre, and shopping, and taking part in events to support causes he cares passionately about, such as local Pride parades. With the right support, he could continue to engage in such activities and take on new experiences, all of which would greatly benefit his personal sense of worth as a member of society.
You’ll be joining another Personal Assistant who’s been working for us for a while now. She’d be happy to answer any questions you have about the job and how she works with our son.
If you’re passionate about helping others, resilient, and enjoy taking on new challenges, we’d love to hear from you.
