An exciting opportunity has arisen on Weaver Ward to work as a Nurse Practitioner. Weaver Ward is a 16-bedded female acute ward.
This is a demanding and challenging role where, as a successful candidate, you will be required to demonstrate high levels of resilience, excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to provide sound clinical and leadership support to team members.
The post holder will also demonstrate a passion for coaching leadership style, quality improvement, and an attitude that respects and values service users’ choice, working alongside them and their carers to ensure they are at the centre of care planning.
This post is subject to an enhanced check with the adults barred list Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check.
The main duties include:
1. Working as a registered nurse practitioner on Weaver Ward.
2. Working a variety of shift patterns including mornings, afternoons, long days, and night duties.
3. Promoting and providing safe and good patient care to all service users and supporting their families.
4. Working within a team and autonomously when appropriate to ensure that service is delivered.
5. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team and liaising with all agencies to promote safe and up-to-date practice for service users.
6. Assessing patient/client conditions and considering a range of options when delivering complex and highly complex clinical care.
7. Maintaining clinical credibility by providing clinical care and supporting members of the team within the clinical environment.
8. Ensuring that clinical tasks are appropriately delegated to the relevant team member.
9. Providing data that supports the monitoring of team contracts and objectives.
10. Participating in audits and research, as required.
11. Participating in individual and group supervision.
12. In conjunction with service management, ensuring systems are in place for the ongoing review and assessment of care provision and delivery.
13. Working within guidelines to identify and manage risk, reporting identified risks to service management.
14. Reporting any incidents as per Trust policies and supporting any investigations as delegated by the service lead.
15. Participating in patient satisfaction reporting to improve patient care.
16. Providing support to team members holding responsibility for mentoring students.
