The White Horse Federation is a Multi-Academy Trust of 31 schools across Wiltshire, Swindon, Oxfordshire and Berkshire and we are looking for an enthusiastic and personable Clerk to join our Clerking Team in supporting the Local Governance Committees (LGCs) of schools across the local area within The White Horse Federation.
About the role:
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is seeking both the flexibility of part-time hours within term time, combined with the challenge that comes with working in the ever-changing world of education.
As a Clerk at The White Horse Federation, you will cover the organisation and management of Local Governance Committee meetings, which take place at least four times per year and last approximately two hours. In addition, you will be responsible for drafting agendas, producing accurate and concise minutes of meetings, maintaining information on membership and advising the committee on procedural matters where appropriate. There may be optional opportunities to cover ad-hoc clerking duties for additional school meetings or other schools within the Trust.
Please note that more than one role is available within the Swindon and Wiltshire areas, and there is flexibility around number of schools covered and therefore number of hours worked.
All about you:
Do you have what it takes to join us? We are looking for a Clerk who:
•Ideally has previous experience of minuting meetings.
•Has good administration skills and is competent in the use of Microsoft Office, Teams, and ideally also Governor Hub.
•Is flexible and able to prioritse and multi-task effectively.
•Is highly organised and confidential, with good communication skills.
•Preferably, has knowledge of governance in a school context, although training will be provided.
We are also interested in hearing from candidates who have experience of Governors Disciplinary Committee Meetings, although this is not a requirement.
Why work for us?
We think you will love working with us at The White Horse Federation, and here are some of the reasons why:
•We offer full training and further development opportunities, with ongoing support available via our Central team.
