The Role On offer is a broad, varied and exciting role within Lisega’s engineering department. As a mechanical engineer, you will be involved in the design and engineering of pipe support solutions from concept to installation. You will apply various analytical methods such as pipe stress analysis, structural analysis, as well as mechanical engineering principles to arrive at the most effective solution to complex problems. In addition, you will have the opportunity to support Lisega’s site service capability, undertaking site surveys, pipe support inspection, and being involved with the installation and commissioning of pipe support equipment at site. The role will involve some travel within the UK and occasionally abroad. You must be equally adept working in a team office environment as well as a sole Lisega representative on construction sites and operating industrial plant environments. Essential knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience: · Experience of pipe stress analysis using AutoPIPE, Caesar II or similar. · Understanding of pipe support design concepts and principles. Experience in the engineering of piping and pipe supports in highly regulated industries. Knowledge of various pipe supports including variable spring supports, constant spring supports, snubbers, dynamic restraints, etc. · Meticulous and thorough approach to engineering to achieve the highest standards. · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail. · Excellent technical writing skills. Good verbal communication skills with specialist and non-specialist stakeholders. Good presentation and interpersonal skills. Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage engineering tasks with multiple work phases. · Must be proficient in the use MS Office suite of products to create technical reports, specifications and calculations. · Adaptability and flexibility to undertake site visits when required. · Proficient 2D AutoCAD user. · Full driving license. · Willingness to learn and develop. Desirable knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience: · Degree in Mechanical Engineering · Analysis of structural steelwork using STAAD or similar. · Working knowledge of piping design codes and standards such as ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3 & EN 13480. · Utilisation and interpretation of 3D viewing software such as Navisworks. · Experience of the Lisega product range and LICAD software. · Previous experience working on live plants and construction sites may be beneficial.
