Credit Controller

The Role
At Plexus Freight, we offer a complete logistics package to our customers including Road, Sea, Multi-Modal, Air, and express freight services with a specific focus on client relationships and a work-life balance for our staff.
Reporting to our Head of Accounts, the role available will be for a Credit Controller to assist the business and help manage the finance side focusing on credit control. Training will be offered for the role; however, experience in a similar role is essential. The role is office-based in Portishead, Bristol and will be office-based.
This role is available to start at the beginning of January.
A competitive salary of between £23,000 to £25,000 pro rata, dependent upon experience, is available and the chance to join a friendly and sociable team.
The role currently will involve but is not limited to:
* Processing and generating reminder letters and monthly statements
* Investigating and resolving queries relating to non-payment of invoices
* Evaluating new credit requests and reviewing customers’ credit rankings with banks
* Taking a proactive role in managing and collecting debt by telephone and email
* Being the point of contact for all credit control issues for your ledger
* Ensuring customers who are in liquidation processes are managed efficiently and to a satisfactory resolution
* Providing cover for other members of the credit control team as and when required
* Keeping detailed credit control notes on the system and regularly sending customer statements
* Managing all reporting required by the client on Bad Debt
* Communicating regularly with clients, customers, and working as part of a team
* Developing processes to help with credit control
Key Requirements
* Strong attention to detail, prioritization, and organizational skills
* Confident telephone manner
* Tenacity and hunger to get results from chasing credit
* Effective communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
* Previous experience in an administration role within a Credit Control team essential
* Excellent knowledge and experience of MS Office Excel
* Accurate, efficient, and organized
* Strong communication and inter-personal skills with a willingness to get involved within an enthusiastic and passionate team
* Good communication and time management skills
* Ability to adapt to varying workloads.
