Job Title: Mechanical Cad Engineer
Salary: £32,000 - £33,000 per annum

Location: Bradford, West Yorkshire
Reporting To: Product Maintenance Coordinator
To optimise group products to match the agreed customer specification, group cost targets & timescales. Bring innovative cost-efficient solutions and develop these into working designs. This may involve prototype work, modification improvement requests from production, and from feedback after the final installation on site. To assist in managing the generation of local master data by a multidisciplinary team.
Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
To use own initiative to provide innovative solutions
To understand the manufacturing and production technologies in use in this industry
To understand the operation and function of chilled and frozen display cabinets
To design using 3D with Solid Edge (preferred) & cad system data manager (Profile)
To be proficient with design in sheet steel
To be proficient with design in other materials than sheet steel
To be able to manage a short-term project from inception to successful introduction
Analytical approach to Master Data problem solving
Ability to operate MS Word Excel PowerPoint etc and provide well presented reports
To be able to communicate effectively at all levels internally and with customers.
Knowledge of MRP Systems (preferred SAP) & BOM generation
To be able to work effectively as a member of a multidiscipline team, both locally, and as part of a larger group project.
To be able to work with minimal supervision to defined timescales & cost targets
To be able to conform to group working practices & procedures.
Understand the cost & Engineering change control implications of design.
Experience and Key Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Ability to work independently and use own initiative
Ability to organise and prioritise own workload
A keen eye for detail • HND or equivalent in mechanical Engineering.
Refrigeration or electrical experience would be advantageous
Management System Commitment:
