We have a fanatic opportunity for a Head of Business Development to join our Senior Leadership Team and be Responsible for the acquisition of new clients in Aviva’s Workplace business! This is a highly competitive and fast-moving marketplace where strong relationships with our key Distributors and our ability to showcase our proposition and service to them, and potential new clients, is vital for securing new DC Pension Scheme business!

A bit about the job:
You’ll be responsible for leading a specialist Business Development Team and the accompanying supporting teams & infrastructure including Implementation, Bid and Sales to deliver long term profitable business from a range of intermediary, partnership and joint venture channels whilst maintaining an outstanding client and customer experience.
You will also own and evolve Aviva’s Workplace Savings business development strategy to maximise future new business by driving continual improvement and thriving in a dynamically changing market. In addition, you and the team will be ensuring intermediary relationships are managed to support existing client retention, delivering consistent support to the Client Relationship team, and ensuring a robust risk and governance framework is established and continually applied.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
1. Extensive experience in sales and relationship management in the UK Corporate Pensions market, specifically with large EBCs. Your proven track record in delivering profitable growth will be key in this role
2. A very detailed understanding of the Corporate Pensions market, including strategy, sales, marketing, and customer service. You should have a comprehensive understanding of the total proposition
3. Experience in partnership and joint venture business development, with the ability to negotiate at the board level. Your credibility and expertise in this area will be invaluable
4. Strong Leaderships and management skills; the ability to lead and empower a large team to achieve outstanding results – to align with Aviva’s strategic and cultural objectives
5. Highly developed and effective communications skills with competency at presenting strategic proposals from Executive level down & Strong skills in building trusting and productive relationships and with the demonstrable ability to work influentially with senior stakeholders – both internal and external
