My name is Lina and I am Clinical Trials Pharmacy Technician Team Manager for the Clinical Trials team in Oxford. I am extremely privileged to manage and support our fantastic technical team of Technicians, Practitioners, Assistants and Apprentices as we provide support services to our clinical trial research teams on all of our trust sites throughout Oxfordshire.
The Clinical Trials Pharmacy consists of Pharmacists, Technicians, Practitioners, Assistants and Apprentices. We work closely with research teams across the trust and external representatives.

Main duties of the job
As a Senior Clinical Trials Pharmacy Technician in our team, you will have an extremely varied role, which includes:
* Maintaining the supply chain of Clinical Trial medications to research nurses.
* Maintaining financial records and completing drug accountability activities.
* Closing down and archiving of completed studies.
* Facilitating meetings from sponsors.
A successful candidate should possess:
* Relevant Pharmacy Technician qualification and registration with GPHC (B4 and B5).
* Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician accreditation (B5 only).
Job responsibilities
Your core role in Clinical Trials Pharmacy would be to:
* Obtain and maintain Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training.
* Apply principles of GCP in the management of clinical trials.
* Ensure clinical trial protocols and SOPs are followed during dispensing of clinical trial investigational medicinal products.
* Order and receive clinical trial drugs.
* Process returned clinical trial drugs and ensure the paperwork is kept in order.
* Assist with the closedown and archiving of clinical trial files.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent and registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
* Accredited Checking Technician or commitment to undertake course.
* A1 Assessor's qualification or equivalent.
Experience
* At least 2 years' experience as a Pharmacy Technician either in hospital or community.
* Previous experience of training/supervision of other/junior staff.
* Previous NHS experience.
* Clinical Trials experience.
* Previous aseptic experience.
Behavioural Skills
* Professional approach and experience of team working.
* Good organisational skills and prioritisation of work.
Technical Skills
* Computer literate with experience of working with the Microsoft Office package.
* Ongoing commitment to CPD and PDP as per GPhC requirements.
Personal skills
* Ability to show attention to detail.
* Good interpersonal skills with all levels of staff.
