Job Overview
To provide housing management to those living within DOC supported and emergency accommodation. We are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic and experienced individual who is committed to ensuring that DOC provides high quality homes to vulnerable people in need. The Housing Manager will work closely with the Support Workers to ensure that our accommodation is a safe and welcoming place that people can call home. The Housing Manager will also provide management assistance to the CEO across all the initiatives of DOC.
Main Responsibilities
1. Housing
o Provide housing management support within DOC, supporting team members with regular housing management tasks.
o Establish positive working relationships with service users and work closely with Support Workers, providing practical housing management.
o Ensure that the accommodation is maintained to a good standard, and that health and safety and fire regulations/policies are adhered to.
o Report breakages/damage/wear and tear promptly, carry out cleaning of voids, make arrangements for renewals and replacement of equipment as necessary, and liaise regularly with contractors.
o Conduct Health & Safety inspections (including fire drills and inspections) and risk assessments.
o Carry out regular property checks, ensuring that the environments are safe and welcoming.
o Ensure that all properties meet the contractual agreements with landlords and housing teams.
o Recognise and report safeguarding concerns.
o Ensure that vacant rooms are clean and in good repair within a timely manner.
o Maintain databases and provide reports as required.
o Issue, complete and explain tenancy and licence agreements and manage the review, renewal, and termination of licences/tenancies as appropriate.
2. Management
o Oversee the day-to-day running of DOC.
o Develop the core work of DOC in the service of homeless men and women, building on the inspirational work that DOC has so far achieved.
o Manage, lead and support staff to ensure service delivery complies with all relevant legislation, regulations, contractual requirements, quality standards, and the mission, values, and aims of DOC.
o Lead the development and delivery of DOC’s strategy to develop and expand services in line with its strategic objectives.
o Develop sustainable and mutually beneficial relationships with partner organisations and other agencies.
o Be responsible for the overall financial health of the organisation, ensuring appropriate financial planning.
o Effectively lead the Management Team.
o Support the Board of Trustees to provide excellent governance by attending trustee meetings and presenting proposals.
o Ensure that any new facilities will be used to best effect in providing improved and additional facilities for our client group/guests.
o Develop DOC as a recognised and reputable organisation for the reduction of homelessness.
o Promote DOC and cultivate its reputation for innovation and high standards.
o Understand and support the Christian ethos of DOC ensuring the delivery of all activities and services reflect its core values.
3. General
o Participate constructively in induction, regular supervision, appraisal, team meetings, and relevant training.
o Maintain confidentiality in line with organisational policy in relation to service users, staff, and business sensitive information.
o Assist the CEO in developing the service in line with DOC strategic objectives.

Person Specification
We want the post-holder to be a committed and practising Christian, able to demonstrate the following competencies to a high level.
Qualifications
* Essential: Educated to Degree level or equivalent.
* Essential: Car user with full driving licence and access to own vehicle.
* Desirable: Experience of supporting and working with homeless or vulnerable people.
* Desirable: Experience of housing management, health and safety or housing law.
* Desirable: Experience of working to safeguarding policy and procedures and reporting appropriately.

Pay: £30,000.00-£34,000.00 per year
