Description of the Role:
Simply Education are seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to join a forward-thinking secondary school in Stockport, Greater Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire students across Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4), with the potential to teach Key Stage 5 (KS5) for the right candidate. The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality science lessons, helping students achieve their academic potential and fostering a genuine interest in science.
This role offers the opportunity to be part of a dynamic science department within a well-established school. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to developing students' skills, from practical science to theoretical learning, and will play an essential part in creating a positive and stimulating learning environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver high-quality science lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with potential for Key Stage 5 teaching.
Develop and implement engaging and differentiated lesson plans and assessments that cater to a range of learning styles.
Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages active student participation and fosters a passion for science.
Regularly assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and adapt lessons to meet the needs of all learners.
Prepare students for GCSE and A-level examinations, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed for success.
Maintain high standards of behavior management and create a supportive learning atmosphere.
Contribute to the development and improvement of the science curriculum and work collaboratively with the science department.
Communicate regularly with parents and carers to provide updates on student progress and engagement.
Participate in school activities, departmental meetings, and professional development to continually improve teaching practice.
Applicant Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
A degree in Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or related field).
Experience teaching science at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 is essential; experience teaching Key Stage 5 is desirable.
Strong knowledge of the secondary science curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
Ability to create an engaging and stimulating classroom environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A passion for teaching and inspiring students to pursue science.
Enhanced DBS check (we can assist with this if necessary).
