Autism Support Worker
* Primary School in Leyland
* Full-time roles available (8.30am-3.30pm)
* Start date: ASAP.
* End date: Ongoing (long-term role)
Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit for a number of posts across Primary schools in and around the Leyland area. We help support many primary schools across the area for staffing whether this be long-term cover i.e., maternity leave, gaps in staffing and additional funding as well as short-term i.e., emergency cover and course cover.
A primary school with an SEN Provision in Skelmersdale is currently seeking a few additional support staff for school. These roles are to start on ASAP; however, dependent on the successful applicant’s availability, there may be flexibility with this. The provision would be willing to wait for the right individuals, dependent on your availability and current situation.
The school is keen to secure additional Level 2 qualified support staff to work on a full-time basis (Monday-Friday, 8.30am-3.30pm). The Level 2 qualification does not need to be school-specific (i.e., teaching and learning/teaching assistant). The school is quite open to the Level 2 qualification; therefore, if you are interested in finding out more about the role, please get in touch!
As an ASC Support Worker, you will be required to:
* Support pupils throughout the school day
* Support pupils across the specialist provision
* Incorporate the use of senses into learning
* Help pupils to support their speech, language, and communication
* Consider the choices, needs, and wishes of each pupil, and encourage them to make the right choices for learning
This Provision caters for pupils who have individual needs based on MLD, SLCN, ASC, and associated challenging behaviours.
As these can be challenging environments, to be successful you would ideally have experience in this sector and have worked with challenging individuals; however, this doesn’t necessarily have to be in a school setting and can be from care, support work, residential, youth work, etc!
If you do not have school-based experience but have a passion for education and making a positive impact for pupils with SEN, we want to hear from you!
If you would like further information regarding the posts, please get in touch!
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details.
