What?
The role involves managing conveyancing files in line with the Conveyancing Quality Scheme, ensuring high-quality service and confidentiality. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong self-management, initiative, and clear communication with clients, estate agents, solicitors, and lenders, while building and maintaining excellent relationships. Attention to detail and a solid understanding of property law are essential to secure marketable titles and meet lenders' requirements under the UK Finance Mortgage Lenders’ Handbook. Broad conveyancing experience, residential or commercial, is required.
Responsibilities include managing enquiries, drafting contract packs, deducing titles (including unregistered), conducting title checks, responding to pre-contract enquiries, preparing title reports, and providing updates to clients and estate agents. The role also involves preparing SDLT returns, advising on specialist matters, maintaining up-to-date risk assessments, conducting contract exchanges, and supervising post-completion tasks. Accurate case management system maintenance is key to tracking progress and ensuring smooth communication.
You
You will be proactive in business development, building and maintaining relationships with estate agents and referrers, and enhancing the firm’s client base through effective engagement with existing clients. You will identify opportunities to cross-sell services, ensuring the confidentiality and security of all client and practice documentation. Managing files in compliance with firm procedures, Solicitors Accounts Rules, Anti-Money Laundering regulations, and Lexcel quality standards is essential. The role also involves fostering professional relationships with supervisors and colleagues, contributing to team meetings, undertaking relevant training, and demonstrating a commitment to personal development.
