Summary
My client has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor with strong technical knowledge on a broad range of construction projects to join their growing multi-discipline team. You'll be asked to carry out the Quantity Surveying duties at on site and electricity substations across the UK from commencement to completion and be able to work in close collaboration with other internal teams.
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will have the opportunity to work on frameworks for DNO's, high profile clients and iconic projects, ensuring that all your work is completed to the highest standard. You will be involved in every aspect of the project from initial feasibility, budget estimate, pre contract bill of quantities and tender production, post contract valuation and final account of the completed projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Undertake feasibility studies and prepare budget estimates for civil projects.
2. Prepare full building and civil tender documentation including preparation of Bills of Quantities using SMM7, Vector and NBS software packages.
3. Carry out post-contract duties including monthly project valuations, financial reporting and agreement of project final accounts.
4. Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the standards, policies and procedures of Freedom Professional Services and its customers.
5. Maintain own competence in accordance with current best practice, legislative changes and customer requirements.
6. Maintain CPD requirements of Institutions or Professional Bodies.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Qualifications, accreditation's, Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying.
2. Experience of providing Pre and Post Contract Quantity Surveying services on projects in the construction industry utilising the NEC3/4 suite of contracts and JCT suite of contracts.
3. Experienced in producing SMM7/NRM Bills of Quantities and tender documentation for building and civil works.
4. Driving Licence.
5. Knowledge and experience of using Vector Bills of Quantities Production Software and NBS Chorus Software - Desirable.
6. Experienced in providing pre and post contract QS Services for substation sites with voltages up to 132kV - Desirable.
7. MRICS qualified - Desirable.
