HR Consultant
Narrow Quay HR is an HR Consultancy with a reputation for providing excellent quality HR support across a variety of sectors. We are a subsidiary of VWV, a full service law firm. Our key areas of work include providing day to day HR support to a range of clients, undertaking workplace investigations, working with clients on projects such as consultation exercises, undertaking training for clients and working alongside our clients to help them to achieve their people management goals. This is an opportunity to join Narrow Quay HR as we enter the next phase of our growth and to become a key member of our friendly and collaborative team.
Our business continues to grow and our clients need our support more than ever so we're looking for an additional HR Consultant ideally for at 4 days a week, to start as soon as possible.
Is This Your Next Career Move?
Whether it's managing day to day HR queries or providing support for strategic projects, Narrow Quay HR works collaboratively with clients to understand their needs and help them reach the right HR solutions. A number of the team members have a background in employment law so they're able to give clients solid legal grounding plus HR expertise, while other team members are highly experienced HR practitioners.
This is a remote working role, although travel for client meetings will be necessary from time to time and the team members do need to go into the VWV office in Bristol to meet clients and colleagues on at least a monthly basis. There are also opportunities to work from the VWV offices in London, Birmingham and Watford.
Central to your role will be to work on workplace investigations for a range of clients from different sectors, including education, charities, blue light services and SMEs. The investigations, into grievances, disciplinary issues and complaints, are often complex and sensitive.
You'll have the opportunity to develop strong relationships with clients who sign up to the Narrow Quay HR retainer and work with them on a variety of their day to day HR issues.
You'll also play a key role supporting the wider work of the team, working on HR projects, providing training for clients and providing panel support for clients dealing with disciplinaries, grievances or appeals.
We are looking for a strong and experienced HR practitioner, who is confident working independently and with experience of complex workplace investigations, or perhaps an employment lawyer who is ready to move into HR. So if you would relish the opportunity to work more flexibly and autonomously then we'd love to speak with you.
We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates who have experience in the education sector, health sector or the blue light sector.
Why Choose Us?
Narrow Quay HR is part of VWV, which is a leading firm of solicitors, with its Head Office in Bristol. In practice this means you'll enjoy the benefits of being part of a small team but also benefit from the infrastructure that comes with being part of a larger organisation in terms of resource and support. With around 500 employees, VWV is a sizeable firm which is known for its friendly and welcoming culture where teamwork and collaboration is key.
We offer a competitive salary, holiday allowance that increases after 12 months, and contribute to your pension pot. In addition, we have an informal dress code, give you private healthcare and life assurance, as well as offering a range of discounts with local businesses. You'll also benefit from a wide range of internal training courses, so that you can continuously learn and develop your skills.
You'll be working in an inclusive environment, that promotes and values diversity, and where everyone, regardless of background, can reach their full potential.
Where Will I Be Working?
Our Narrow Quay HR consultants work remotely, but please be aware that you will be expected to come in the Bristol office on at least a monthly basis to meet/work with the team in person. The role will also involve travel to see clients.
So Who Are We Hoping Will Apply?
You may be a highly experienced HR professional with experience of building strong relationships with client and with experience of complex workplace investigations. Alternatively, you may be an Employment Lawyer, or ex Employment Lawyer looking for a new challenge. Either way, this could be the role for you. Your previous investigations experience will certainly allow you to hit the ground running.
Please note we are ideally looking for someone who can start as soon as possible.
