About Us: DCLX Ltd is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Lighting Technician to join our team working on preparation, use and operation of a wide range of lighting, rigging and power distribution equipment. As a Lighting Technician, you will play a vital role in making sure our equipment is rigged and operated to industry standards and deliver high quality performance when on site. You will work on a wide range of events from fashion, corporate, experiential, live music and private events. Some projects will involve the design and manufacture of custom control solutions from our in-house team and you will work closely with this team on specific projects. DCLX is a growing company with plenty of room for career progression towards lighting design, technical/project management as well as coding & electrical engineering within our customs department. Key Details Lighting Technician Permanent position Based in South East London Paying up to £35K Overtime Key Responsibilities: Rig, operate and de-rig equipment on site for events. Assist in the pre-production of equipment required for events - pre addressing & making looms etc. Prepare and test various lighting, power and rigging equipment ready for events Ensure a safe working environment is maintained. Comply with company policies and procedures. Perform any other reasonable duties requested by the Project Managers Candidate Requirements: Knowledge of moving lights, generic fixtures and control systems (Chamsys, Avo, Madrix and ELM are highly desirable) A good understanding of lighting networks & protocols Working knowledge of current health and safety legislation Previous experience in a similar role Knowledge of standard dimmer systems, electrical circuits and basic electrical calculations Must be happy to undertake training such as - advanced lighting consoles (Chamsys/Avolites), BS7909, IPAF, PASMA, rigging for the entertainment industry (3 day), first aid at work Must be able to confidently communicate internally and externally, giving advice/instructions as and when required To be able to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities/deadlines Team player Self-motivating, enthusiastic and organised Having an eye for detail, accuracy is extremely important for this role Desirable Skills & Experience IPAF & PASMA licence Experience working with Vectorworks / Capture BS7909 Rigging certificate Ability to use hand and workshop tools and equipment for both stage and electrics Experience with Pixel / LED tape Experience with coding (Arduino / Pi) Clean driving licence Experiance with CNC, laser cutting and 3D printing Physical & Social Conditions Non-Standard working hours, including evenings and weekends Working away from home, nationally and internationally Working at height Applicants must have the full right to work in the UK.
