An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Senior/Lead Occupational Therapist to join our client's dynamic and enthusiastic multidisciplinary team at a leading mental health hospital. Role Overview:
As the Senior/Lead Occupational Therapist, you will play a key role in maintaining and developing the Occupational Therapy Service within the hospital. The successful candidate will have experience working with a range of complex cases in an inpatient setting, both individually and in groups. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Providing consultation and support to the lead consultant on the unit's therapeutic programme.
2. Engaging patients in therapeutic and meaningful activities that promote positive outcomes.
3. Managing and coordinating individual treatment plans for occupational therapy and activities.
4. Conducting 1:1 OT assessments and delivering tailored treatment plans.
5. Developing close working relationships with professional and clinical colleagues to ensure clinical practice aligns with organisational policies, statutory regulations, and quality standards, particularly regarding risk assessment.
6. Demonstrating excellent oral and written communication skills along with exceptional organisational abilities.
Candidate Requirements:
1. Qualified Occupational Therapist with relevant professional registration.
2. Substantial experience in an inpatient mental health setting, specifically working with adult and CAMHS ED populations.
3. Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to manage and develop a team.
4. Competence in risk assessment and the management of complex clinical cases.
5. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, fostering positive relationships with colleagues.
6. High level of organisational skills and the ability to manage a diverse workload effectively.
7. Commitment to continuous professional development and staying up to date with the latest practices in occupational therapy.
