OT Security Engineer

Location: Scotland based (Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Perth, Inverness). Hybrid
Responsibilities:
The OT Security Team is responsible for the security of the digital systems that keep the lights on; (SCADA systems, telecoms networks and station protection and controls).
Security Operations where we respond to and investigate security alerts;
Security Controls where we assure and verify the efficacy of our existing security measures
Security Engineering where we oversee new and changed digital systems to embed security by design
This role is focused on Security Engineering and the key responsibilities include:
Support projects in cyber risk management and the identification, specification, design and implementation of appropriate cyber security controls.
Communicate security risks and solutions to others through design reviews, factory security testing and site acceptance testing.
To develop, review and update existing policy and procedures covering cyber security for all OT networks.
Research and advocate new technologies, architectures, and international and UK security developments
Represent OT as a security expert and contribute to discussions and consultations with various teams within the business.
Become skilled in the installation, development, and maintenance, of the security toolset used within the business. This includes monitoring tools, log consolidation tools, and network security technologies.
Skills & Experience:
Experience working within an Operational Technology (OT) or Distributed Control System (DCS) environment with a working understanding of the function and criticality of such systems.
Experience designing and implementing security controls for OT environments, including knowledge of relevant standards and compromises that may be necessary to balance security with operations.
Professional security certification, such as a Global Industry Cyber Security Professional Certification (GICSP) or ability to achieve certification within eighteen month, is desirable.
