Nicholas Associates are excited to present a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Business Development Manager to join a leading company in the industrial pump sector. This well-established business is looking to appoint a dynamic individual to help grow its diaphragm pump product range across the UK market.
The primary focus of this role will be to drive profitable growth by expanding market share and nurturing key customer relationships. You will be responsible for leading the sales strategy and execution across a range of vertical markets, including battery production, solar/PV, semiconductors, nitrogen, chemicals, electroplating, and ceramics.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the growth and profitability of the diaphragm pump product range by meeting and exceeding sales targets.
Cultivate relationships with key accounts, OEMs, wholesalers, and system integrators.
Develop and implement a commercial strategy to strengthen the position of the product range in the UK market, with a strong focus on sustainability and long-term business growth.
Define and manage annual sales and account plans, including budgeting, investments, and tracking their alignment with the broader business strategy.
Drive prospecting, project development, and sales activity.
Collaborate with regional sales teams to expand customer reach and identify new opportunities.
Continuously analyse and improve business operations, collaborating with marketing and lead generation teams to create new campaigns and market opportunities.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
New customer acquisition and recurring revenue for the diaphragm pump products in the UK.
Growth in quote pipeline and improved conversion rates.
Achieving profitability (EBITDA) at the divisional level.Ideal Candidate Profile:
Proven experience in the technical industrial pump market, ideally in fluid handling technology.
Established network within key industries such as battery production, solar/PV, semiconductors, nitrogen, chemicals, electroplating, and ceramics.
A track record of successful sales growth, both through direct and indirect sales channels.
Degree (or equivalent) in a technical or commercial field.
Strong commercial skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and manage key accounts.
A team player who is able to bridge cultural differences and implement collaborative change.
Excellent proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
High integrity, flexibility, and the ability to thrive under pressure.Additional Requirements:
Willingness to travel across the UK and stay overnight when required.
Ability to work from a regional home office with occasional travel to meetings.
Experience in structured sales processes, CRM systems, and digital collaboration tools (e.g., Teams, Office, Dynamics 365).Package & Benefits:
