The school is seeking a compassionate and skilled SEN Teaching Assistant to join the team for a long-term vacancy.
Role Overview: As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting pupils with diverse learning needs. You will work closely with teachers and other staff to provide tailored assistance that fosters an inclusive classroom environment and helps each child reach their full potential.
Responsibilities:
Support pupils with SEN in their learning and development both in and out of the classroom.
Assist in the planning and implementation of personalized learning plans.
Work collaboratively with teachers to adapt resources and activities to meet individual needs.
Foster a positive and supportive environment that encourages pupil engagement and participation.
Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to the class teacher.
Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding pupil progress and support strategies.
Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills.
Uphold the school's policies and procedures, particularly regarding safeguarding and health and safety.
Requirements:
Previous experience working with children with special educational needs is essential.
Relevant qualifications in education or childcare (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent) are desirable.
Strong understanding of the challenges faced by pupils with SEN and effective strategies to support them.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A patient, compassionate, and adaptable approach to supporting pupils.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team and foster positive relationships.
