Join a team as an Assembly Operative - Pressure Test and play a vital role in the production and testing of high-quality cables, pipes, high-pressure hoses, and gun components for seat assemblies. Key Responsibilities:
Perform assembly and inspection operations to meet required quality standards and production schedules.
Use engineering drawings and specifications to assemble components, ensuring all processes align with technical requirements.
Conduct high-pressure hose testing, including proof and destruction testing, to verify compliance with quality standards.
Manufacture cables and hoses, including cutting to specified lengths, attaching end fittings, and applying heat-shrinkable material to standards.
Perform swaging and proof-load testing for end fittings per process specifications.
Undertake bench fitting and assembly tasks, such as drilling, riveting, bonding, and oven curing, ensuring all procedures meet quality requirements.
Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are fit for purpose, and report any issues promptly.
Conduct self-inspections and certify work through appropriate stamping, maintaining adherence to quality protocols.
Participate in Lean initiatives, such as 5S and continuous improvement programs.
Comply with Health & Safety policies, including COSHH and risk assessments.
Engage in in-house and external training programs to stay updated on modern practices.
Key Attributes and Skills:
Essential:
Basic background in manufacturing or engineering.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and process specifications.
Familiarity with hand tools and basic measuring equipment.
Understanding of Health & Safety regulations, COSHH, and quality assurance protocols.
Manual dexterity and strong attention to detail.
Desirable:
Experience with SAP systems.
Proficiency with drilling machines, riveting techniques, and adhesive bonding.
Mechanical apprenticeship qualification.
