Materials Controller | Ascend Airways Full Time - London Gatwick Airport Ascend Airways operate a small fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft (NG and MAX) in the ACMI market and opened its first operational base at London Gatwick in early 2024. The company is founded on the legacy of Synergy Aviation, a respected UK AOC holder, which has been acquired by Avia Solutions Group, already the world’s largest ACMI provider with over 200 airliners in operation. The Material Controller will be responsible for the procurement and logistics of aircraft requirements including AOG and ADD demands as well as routine stock purchasing. This will include but not be limited to Rotables, expendables, consumables, and general purchasing. The position will also support logistics based tasks such as goods receipt, stock transfers, despatch, shipping and auditing transactions. The ideal candidate will have the following experience and attributes Minimum 2 years' experience in aviation stores or purchasing. Knowledge and experience of shipping requirements (including DG) Strong understanding of aviation component documentation and acceptance standards. Proficient IT skills in Microsoft Office Suite and aviation parts platforms. Self-motivation and proactivity to work independently. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with colleagues and vendors. Strong operational awareness and problem-solving abilities to address logistics challenges. The Successful candidate will process and Clean Driving Licence and hold the ability to hold an Full Airside Pass. Responsibilities: Working closely with Maintenance Control to ensure timely sourcing and availability of parts and materials in response to demand for short term scheduled maintenance, AOG and Deferred Defects. Updating the stores system with component and material paperwork when items are booked into stock and available. Ensuring exchange / rotable cores and loan components are returned to the supplier in compliance with any applicable contract or supplier requirement. Ensuring that all parts, tooling and other equipment is processed into the Stores System in line with regulatory requirements and Company procedures Coordinate the transportation of parts, materials, and tooling between line stations and suppliers to meet operational demands. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of stores procedures, component supply contracts, and interface agreements. Ensure all rotable cores and unused spares from Operational Line Stations are returned to Vendors as applicable. Ensure all spares that are put into the stores system are highlighted as Dangerous Goods where applicable, and the correct paperwork and arrangements (such as identification and packaging) are made appropriate to storage or shipping requirements. Liaising with Accounts to ensure invoices are processed in line with company requirements Carrying out internal and Line station stores audits for the purpose of stock/inventory control. Management of minimum stock levels, both replenishment and review of usage through booking out sheets.
