Communications Officer
Salary: Grade 6 (£30,487 - £36,024 p.a. depending on experience)
Interviews are expected to be held week commencing 1 July 2024
This post will be based on the university campus, with scope for hybrid working. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.
Can you create and manage compelling communications campaigns for a range of channels and audiences? Working as part of the Communications Team, you will promote the work, services and facilities of the Libraries and play a pivotal role in raising our profile as we pursue our exciting and ambitious vision for 2030: Knowledge for All.
Our contribution to the academic and cultural life of the university is wide-ranging, providing online and print resources, study facilities, academic and digital skills development, open research and research metrics services, and rare and unique special collections.
A confident and creative communicator, you will work across a range of channels to increase the impact and profile of the Libraries across our key audiences internally and externally. You’ll need excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills and an ability to simplify complex information accurately and accessibly.
You will support and mentor colleagues to deliver content that cuts through the noise, and you’ll have a talent for planning, managing and evaluating campaigns. We’re also looking for great questioning and interpersonal skills to allow you to interact with and support a wide range of stakeholders.
You must be able to work flexibly, independently and collaboratively.
You will have a professional qualification in communications, journalism or PR and/or substantial experience of communications work, journalism and/or corporate communications.
