Are you looking to use your skills in a different way? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a higher level qualified pharmacy technician to work as part of the pharmacist led anticoagulation team. We currently provide a pharmacist led specialist direct oral anticoagulation service as well as a small number of warfarin clinics. across Buckinghamshire.
The DOAC (Direct Oral Anticoagulation) team would love to hear from a Pharmacy Technician wanting to expand their skills and knowledge by joining the team in this exciting new role. There is scope for the role to evolve to fit the service.
In the heart of Buckinghamshire countryside, the Trust is located conveniently close to London and Oxford. We provide services to three main sites, Wycombe, Amersham and Stoke Mandeville. You will be responsible for supporting the pharmacist led anticoagulation team with the clinic service provided to patients, providing follow up telephone consultations and counselling to those newly initiated. You will work as part of the multi-disciplinary team to support and develop anticoagulation services, maximising efficiency and safety along with the provision of excellent patient part of a specialist team you will also have the opportunity to learn management and personal skills by working with ward Pharmacists and ward assistants in the Pharmacy department and also in the Satellite Pharmacies.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING
Essential
1. NVQ level 3 or Apprenticeship in Pharmacy Services
2. Registered with GPHC
3. ACPT accredited or willing to work towards qualification.
Desirable
4. NVQ assessor or equivalent
EXPERIENCE
Essential
5. Previous Hospital Pharmacy Experience
6. Experience of Audits
7. Training other Pharmacy Staff
8. Experience of counselling patients
9. Experience of previous line management
SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE
Essential
10. Ability to work in an organised and calm fashion in a busy environment.
11. Be able to delegate and coordinate other staff
12. To be forward thinking and be able to develop new ideas
13. The ability to identify the need for SOP's and assist in the preparation and implementation of new ones.
14. Ability to work to Standard Operating Procedures accurately and in a timely fashion
15. Ability to supervise and train other pharmacy staff (including assistants, student technicians and trainee pharmacists)

16. Knowledge or experience of anticoagulant medications
