We are seeking experienced and highly motivated Locum Consultants to provide essential care and expertise across multiple specialty areas within NHS hospitals. This role provides a unique opportunity to deliver high-quality patient care within a supportive, multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:
* Provide high-quality clinical care within the specialty area, managing inpatient and outpatient services.
* Participate in the delivery of clinical teaching, training junior doctors and medical students.
* Lead ward rounds and multidisciplinary team meetings.
* Offer on-call services and cover emergency shifts as required.
* Ensure the timely and effective diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients.
* Contribute to the continuous development and improvement of clinical services within the Trust.
* Work in collaboration with nursing, allied health professionals, and other specialties to deliver integrated care.
* Maintain accurate patient records, adhering to NHS standards and data protection guidelines.
* Participate in audit, research, and quality improvement projects to enhance patient outcomes.
Person Specification:
Qualifications:
* Medical Degree (MBBS/MBChB or equivalent) – Essential
* Full Registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) – Essential
* Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in relevant specialty or CESR (Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration) – Essential
* Full inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register in [Specialty] – Essential
* Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP)/Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS)/other relevant college or equivalent – Desirable
* Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification – Essential
Experience:
* Significant experience as a Consultant in a relevant specialty, including management of complex cases.
* Evidence of teaching, supervision, and mentoring of junior doctors and other staff.
* Experience in working as part of multidisciplinary teams.
* Research and audit experience within the specialty – Desirable.
Skills and Knowledge:
* Expertise in the latest clinical protocols and evidence-based guidelines for managing patients in your specialty.
* Excellent diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills.
* Strong leadership and communication skills.
* Ability to manage emergency situations effectively.
* Commitment to patient safety and quality improvement.
* Familiarity with NHS systems and protocols.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: £113.73-£116.97 per hour
Expected hours: 45 – 50 per week
