An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Physical Healthcare Nurse to join the Offender Health Care Group working at HMP North Sea Camp.
This role requires a Primary Care Nurse to work as part of a team delivering care to patients both within the Healthcare Centre's and on the Units within the prison environment.
Main duties of the job
1. To provide high quality nursing care to patients with physical healthcare needs in a prison setting.
2. Accountable for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the patients care.
3. To provide basic leadership to junior staff by maintaining professional standards ensuring adherence to all relevant policies and procedures to ensure the delivery of high-quality care.
4. To provide support and supervision for junior staff and learners.
This post also includes paid enhancements for unsocial hours working during night, weekends and bank holidays.

Qualifications
Essential
* First level registered nurse / RN
Desirable
* Significant /Demonstrable experience within the substance misuse field with evidence of appropriate continued learning.
* Certificate/Diploma in Counselling
Experience

* Experience of assessing patient conditions, triaging services and providing appropriate clinical interventions.
* Experience of working effectively within a MDT.
Desirable
* Experience of working in a criminal justice setting.
* Experience of close working relationships with a variety of statutory agencies and other external organisations.
* Experience of supervising and mentoring junior staff.

* Awareness of other issues relevant to healthcare application within criminal justice, e.g. substance misuse
