We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Duty Officer / Caretaker / Facilities Assistant with excellent interpersonal, communication, customer service and administrative skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise.
Working as the Duty Officer / Caretaker / Facilities Assistant you will be responsible for providing caretaking services, liaising with third party contractors, welcoming visitors, ensuring the reception, courtyards, paths, car parks, goods in area, plant room and bin store are clean and tidy and supporting the wider team in managing meeting room bookings.
As the Duty Officer / Caretaker / Facilities Assistant you will also carry out daily building checks, ensuring all equipment and facilities are being used in a safe manner

DUTIES
Your duties as the Duty Officer / Caretaker / Facilities Assistant include:
1. Provide the highest possible standard of customer service in communicating with tenants, staff and visitors. Liaising with contractors and supporting routine enquiries. To support the wider team ensuring that meeting room bookings are managed appropriately
2. Cleaning duties: Ensure that the presentation of the reception and communal areas are excellent at all times including: courtyards, paths, car parks, goods in area, plant room and bin store
3. Carry out daily building checks to ensure that all equipment and facilities are being used in a safe and effective way with requirements being documented and urgent actions being reported to the centre manager
4. Support the day-to-day Health and Safety checks and monitoring at the centre including the testing and checking of intruder and fire alarm systems, emergency lighting and fire equipment, testing water temperatures, maintaining clear routes of exits and entrances and any other statutory requirements in place. To report all issues as they occur to the Centre Manager
5. Assist in maintaining the security of the building in accordance with operational policies. Operating security systems such as CCTV and video equipment. To participate in the arrangements for ‘out of hours’ access to the centre which may include opening and locking up
6. Undertake regular checks of the building ensuring that the facility is maintained to the highest standard. Individual programmes of work will be established and agreed between the Post holder and Centre Manager and will include essential / emergency cleaning when required
7. Work effectively as a team member, sharing information, attending team meetings and supporting colleagues in ensuring the facility runs effectively
