Specialist Operator - Watercutting

Join us as a Specialist Operator in our Watercutting team in Christchurch!
In this role, you will operate the watercutter and perform labouring tasks to help deliver work for our customers safely, on time and to the highest quality standard. Our Watercutter is designed to use ultra high-pressure water to remove excess bitumen on the road surface, helping to restore the microtexture of polished aggregates and chips in road surfaces.
In addition to the above you will:
* Carry out general maintenance of plant.
* Perform general labouring duties within the water cutting department.
* Travel around New Zealand delivering good work!
Flexibility for the job is essential, the role is based at our Hornby yard, however you could be working anywhere in the South Island or lower North as the work travels around the country. This is a great opportunity to be paid to see the country. All accommodation and meals are supplied while working away from home. Our work is mostly days but shift work will be required from time to time. During the quieter season, this role will also provide you with the opportunity to work in several different departments around the business, further expanding your skillset.

We’re looking for someone with:
* Availability to work away from home and on shift; flexibility for the job is essential.
* Full Class 4 licence (WTR endorsements are advantageous).
* Experience operating a variety of machinery.
* Strong mechanical aptitude.
* The ability to problem solve in a fast-paced environment.
* A proactive approach to Health and Safety - it’s our #1 priority.
* Good communication skills.
* A positive attitude and most importantly, a good sense of humour.
