To lead the supplier onboarding, performance management and purchasing negotiations in line with Global Sourcing Strategy. To represent the Procurement function for New Product Development teams to ensure early involvement of internal stakeholders and key suppliers to deliver cost effect and robust supply chain solutions. To install, negotiate and maintain key supplier and other key goods (non-raw materials, capital equipment, etc) supply and service contracts. Develop, execute & maintain robust sourcing strategies focusing on cost, reliability, flexibility, innovation and risk for raw materials, NPD raw materials, capital equipment, other goods and services Lead supplier selection process, through benchmarking, RFx processes, detailed negotiations and contract placement For NPD raw materials: (a) develop and manage accurate costed BoMs and communicate variances during development process; (b) ensure material availability to support the NPD process while managing the risk and exposure of design change and (c) develop stocking profiles and communicate the expected inventory impact post launch. Manage supplier relationships for goods and services, facilitating technical and commercial communication between suppliers and internal customers, Review and focus on sustainability, component portfolio risk management and cost optimisation. Conduct data analysis and use findings to drive Procurement team decisions for production sustainability and support Global S&OP review. Develop robust supply chains suitable for volume production. Actively develop purchasing processes in line with industry best practices and Business Excellence principles Support operational purchasing as required. Education/Qualifications Educated to degree standard, or 5 years’ experience in a procurement or engineering discipline Ideally a member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Management, or a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a relevant procurement role Skills/Knowledge/Experience Extensive experience in end to end supplier management within a manufacturing environment Proven track record in New Product Development activities as a Procurement lead Strong negotiation skills Extensive experience and understanding of contract review and negotiation Strong internal and external stakeholder management Experience of implementing Procurement best practice across goods and services Excellent computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite and ERP/MRP systems (Experience or knowledge of Infor preferential) Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate well in English both written and orally Attention to detail, drive for results and quality driven approach The ability to demonstrate creativity and innovation is a key attribute as well as being a sound self-starter, assertive and a strong team player within a Procurement and cross-functional team What you should know about us: ATL Technology is a fast-growing provider of outsourced design, development and manufacturing services to the medical device market, and its UK site (GML Medical Ltd - an ATL Technology owned Company) is based in St Mellons, Cardiff, UK.
