Are you looking for a change of pace that will provide you with the true work-life balance you've been longing for, paired with a newfound sense of contribution towards the local community?
This district council is searching for a Senior Planning Solicitor to integrate into their Haywards Heath-based legal team. Join them in their pursuit of building a collaborative and capable legal offering, flexing your confidence as the line manager of two team members while independently providing planning law advice for primarily non-contentious matters.
This role provides an opportunity to take real pride in your work as you effect positive change on your doorstep. Additionally, this change of pace does not mean less exciting work; this is one of the top areas for expansion and regeneration in the entire country, meaning that there's a steady stream of work for you to sink your teeth into.
In addition to a healthy flux of work and the gratuity of contributing towards social change, you will also receive a range of benefits, including:
* 32+ days of annual leave per year, plus 'flexi-time' permitting further leave
* A generous local government pension, with current employer contributions of 17%
* Full occupational health support
* Flexible working; full or part-time, office-based or hybrid with in-person meetings.
As well as attending council planning meetings and providing ad hoc advice to local councillors, you will conduct the full spectrum of planning matters, consisting of enforcement notices and the drafting and service of various orders and deeds, in addition to Section 106 agreements. Knowledge of SAMM and SANG contributions is preferable, as is a desire to remain informed on planning legislation developments.
In the words of their most recent hire, it's time to consider the 'hours and hours of your life that you get back' by leaving behind the stress of billable hour targets and opting for a more fulfilling career path.
